In the entertainment business loss and gain is always found. Even in loss maintaining a steady level is very important. That is what Jayanna Combines ‘Jayanna’ who is distributor of hundreds of films and producer of five Kannada films.

We catch him at Sun Castle resort on the beach side the exotic location of his ‘Drama’ shooting of Yogaraj Bhat. His second with Yogaraj Bhat and Yash the rising star of Kannada cinema.

There was deep concern, careful approach, need to make better films, need of growth of Kannada cinema industry in the 45 minutes chat.

Here are the excerpts of a chat on rainy Sunday afternoon at Koteshwara:

 

·         The shooting going is Climax lead. By July 12th we will be completing shoot.

·         In place of Prakash Raj we have Sampath Raj. Our advance with Prakash Raj is still with him.

·         ‘Drama’ is a huge star cast, high in spending.

·         18 to 20 age group Jawadbadi and their look out in life are told in this family surrounded film.

·         Compared to Paramathma ‘Drama’ is asking for more money.

·         We have paid Rs.4 lakhs as journey Bata and room rent and others comes to eight lakhs. This is for 120 to 150 cinema workers.

·         We have not yet decided on the melody song shoot on Radhika Pandit and Yash. There is one Tappanguchi song for Satish of Ninasam. He is second hero. His pair is Sindhu who is dumb in the film.

·         I will be finishing second film with Yash. I have already signed one more film with the same her.

·         Jaanu was profit for me. For others it is Rs.1 crore loss. The collection is Rs.4.60 including TV rights.

·         Anna Bond distribution I have taken. It is Rs.3.6o crore in the first week net earnings while it was Rs.60 lakhs and Rs.12 lakhs in the subsequent weeks.

·         I am not giving Drama to anyone. Loss adre nanage agli. For Paramathma I have given back advances for four distributors. They suffered. I do not want to keep their money with such results.

·         Drama has already fetched Rs.1.80 crore in TV rights from Udaya. I have already taken advance of it.

·         After Vijay Chakravathy, I am planning Johny-2 sequel.

·         Yogaraj Bhat is more matured now. He knows the difficulty very well. Wastage Illadhe he is doing. Had I saved wastages on ‘Paramathma’ I   could have earned Rs.2 crore more. The calculations went wrong.

·         In the distribution since 10 years we have not changed. It is as it is.
